Membership Luncheon

You may not have heard, but the Optimist Club in Van Wert is the place to be.

We have room for new members, and would love for you to consider joining our organization.  Maybe you have employees looking for ways to give back to the Van Wert community, or maybe you have a passion for assisting the youth in our area. Whatever the desire, the Optimist Club of Van Wert can help you meet those goals.

The purpose of the Van Wert Optimist Club is to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world. Providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in the youth, our communities and ourselves.” Our mission statement says it all. Not only do you position yourself to make an impact in the lives of area youth, but you also align yourself with like-minded professionals in the area.  It’s a perfect blend of making a difference, and growing personally and professionally.

If you have an individual within your company that you feel would be an asset to our club, we extend an invitation to our Membership Luncheon on Thursday, September 14th, 2017 at Willow Bend Country Club at noon. The luncheon will last about an hour and we will provide more information to you about what we as the Optimist Club do for our community and some of the projects we have been involved in. Please RSVP to Jenny Smith at 419-238-6747 x-103 or Michele Mooney 419-238-6214 by Monday, September 11, 2017.

Don’t just take our word for how rewarding it is to be an Optimist! Read what our members have to say:

“Optimist Club is a great way to make new friends and give back to the community. As a business person, it is the right thing to do to support and give back to the community who gives you a living. Also, what a great break during the day every Thursday to leave the office for an hour and eat lunch with some great people!”

“I believe that if you want to make a lasting impact in your community it starts with the youth. Through various events from bike safety courses to after prom, The Optimist Club of Van Wert, allows me to do that. We work with local youth from elementary age through high school. I take great pride in helping to enhance the lives of our future community leaders.

Optimist Club has also introduced me to other members in my community that share the same passions as I do. It is great to work with them and create lasting friendships.”

“I’ve enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie developed over the years through membership in the Van Wert Optimist Club. I enjoy being with people from different walks of life, but with a similar positive outlook. Optimist Club is also great way to get involved and stay informed about activities and events in the community. The best part though is the fun we have working together on projects and at our weekly meetings.”
